Vivid Sydney is the Australia’s largest annual festival of lights and music in Sydney, and it is free! It began on May 25th 2009 and is an unforgettable experience that runs from 6 to 11pm each evening for three weeks. Works of light art are displayed in Circular Quay (Opera House and Harbour Bridge), The Royal Botanic Gardens, King Cross, the Rocks, Darling Harbour, Barangaroo, and Chatswood. There are also boats lit up like Christmas trees moving in and out of the harbor, and fireworks on select evenings.

There are endless ways to enjoy vivid from taking a walk through the Royal Botanic Gardens, having a drink at the Opera House, or booking an amazing 90-minute cruise. The festival hosts some great Australian and international bands, tasty local food and beverage stands, and talented local street performers. If you are in Sydney in late May or June, go see Vivid Sydney !
